Her journey from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas to becoming the former COO of Fontainebleau Las Vegas showcases her expertise and dedication.

Early Life and Education

Colleen Birch embarked on her educational journey at Washington State University from 1991 to 1992. She then pursued and completed her Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, between 1997 and 1999. These formative years laid the foundation for her illustrious career in the hospitality industry.

Career Beginnings

After completing her education, Colleen started her career at Caesars Palace in August 1999. She initially took on the role of Housekeeping Manager, a position she held for just over a year. She was then promoted to Reservations Manager in September 2000. Her keen eye for detail and exceptional leadership skills saw her rise through the ranks, eventually becoming the Front Office Manager and later, the Hotel Yield Manager.

Colleen’s dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed. She was promoted to the role of Director of Revenue Management for Caesars Entertainment in July 2004, a role she held for one year before moving on to greater challenges.

A Trailblazer in Revenue Management

Colleen’s next chapter began at Harrah’s Entertainment as the Director of Revenue Management for the Western Division. Here, she was responsible for the revenue management operations of the company’s hotel rooms. Her expertise in revenue optimization and customer relationship management significantly contributed to the company’s success.

In September 2008, Colleen joined Fontainebleau, Las Vegas, as the Executive Director for the Revenue Management & Contact Center. Though her stint was brief, it was impactful. She then transitioned to American Casino & Entertainment Properties as the VP of Revenue Management and Distribution.

Leadership at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Perhaps one of the most notable chapters in Colleen’s career was her tenure at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. Joining in November 2009 as the VP of Revenue Optimization, she showcased her exceptional skills in strategic planning and leadership. Her contributions were pivotal in enhancing the luxury casino resort’s revenue strategies. In January 2016, in recognition of her stellar performance, she was promoted to SVP of Revenue Optimization, a role she held with distinction until December 2022.

Impactful Roles and Recognition

Colleen Birch’s leadership skills and industry knowledge led her back to Fontainebleau, Las Vegas, in November 2022, where she served as the Chief Operating Officer until January 2024. Her strategic vision and operational expertise were crucial in driving the organization towards achieving its goals.

Throughout her career, Colleen has been honored with several awards, including being named one of Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s “Revenue Management Professionals of the Year” and “Woman to Watch” by Vegas Inc. Her achievements are a testament to her dedication, skill, and leadership in the hospitality industry.

Beyond the Office

Colleen’s passion for the hospitality industry extends beyond her professional roles. She serves on the board of Women in Travel Tech, an organization dedicated to advancing women in travel tech businesses to leadership positions. She is also the Chairwoman of the Board at the Hospitality Charitable Foundation, where she focuses on mentoring and supporting committed students.

A Sabbatical to Reflect and Recharge

As of January 2024, Colleen Birch has taken a sabbatical. She plans to spend this time traveling with friends and family, reflecting on her accomplished career, and planning her next steps. This break marks a moment of pause in a career characterized by relentless drive, leadership, and significant contributions to the hospitality industry.
